Veel mensen denken dat Eckhart Tolle de bedenker is van het “in het hier en nu” leven. Maar het gedachtengoed in zijn bestseller The Power of Now heeft een lange voorgeschiedenis, vooral in de Aziatische wijsheidsliteratuur. Zo schreef de Indiase dichter en toneelschrijver Kalidasa (zie tekening) onderstaand gedicht. Kalidasa leefde rond de 6-e eeuw en wordt als een van de grootste Sanskriet-dichters beschouwd. In its brief course lie all
